Clumsy characters swallowing musical instruments and playing notes as they wheezed was once something only seen in cartoons - but no more.
High school student Mollie O'Brien was attempting the selfless act of entertaining her cousin by shoving an entire harmonica inside her mouth.
And she succeeded. The only problem was she hadn't quite considered the return journey.
Mollie discovered the instrument was stuck lodged between her cheeks, holding her mouth open to resemble something from a bad Snapchat filter.
In that situation, you either die from embarrassment or you embrace it - so Mollie uploaded it to TikTok.
The video shows the teen from Ontario in a video montage with the lyrics 'I just did a bad thing, I regret the thing I did, and you're wondering what it is'.
Unable to speak, obviously, she then writes her confession: "Well... I shoved an entire harmonica in my mouth and it's stuck now" - all while her breathing hilariously plays music as she films.
Mollie was rushed to hospital, where she was referred her to a dentist who used specialist tools to hold her mouth open and retrieve the harmonica.
The clip has accumulated 1.7 million views as fellow TikTokers flooded the comments.
One replied: "She's speaking harmonica I CAN'T."
A second wrote: "Nurse: So what's the problem? Patient: *cries in harmonica*."
Another teased: "You're probably in a lot of stress right now so I think it's a good idea to take deep... breaths."
Mollie admits the more she panicked, the heavier her breathing became and the louder the music played from her mouth.
She says her first thought was "f***, my mum will kill me now" - but it turned out she wasn't angry, just shocked she had raised such a 'weird kid'.
After 30 minutes the pain subsided and her mouth became numb.
When the dentist had successfully removed her alternative voicebox, he simply advised her: "Let's not do this again, OK dear?"
Thankfully Mollie suffered no lasting damage - except the embarrassment immortalised forever online.
