Teen found stabbed in the back, arm and hand almost a mile from scene of attack

A teenage boy was found stabbed in the back, arm and hand almost a mile away from the scene of the vicious attack.

Emergency services were called to Yelverton Road, in Birkenhead, shortly before 5pm on Tuesday to reports of an assault.

The 18-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds after being attacked on Milton Road East, just under one mile down the road.

He was rushed to Aintree Hospital for treatment to his injuries as police launched an investigation into the attack.

Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the area to find out exactly what happened to the teen.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for information following reports a 18 year-old man was assaulted in Birkenhead yesterday, Tuesday 4 August.

"At 4.45pm officers were called to Yelverton Road following reports the man had suffered puncture wounds to his back arm and hand consistent with a knife being used and had been taken to Aintree hospital for treatment.

"He later left hospital.

"It is believed that the incident happened in Milton Road East in Tranmere.

"An investigation is underway and enquiries have been carried out in the local area to establish the circumstances."
