Teen dumped after 'quiet drinks with mate' ends with pair flying to Ibiza on one-way ticket

Two teenage mates have ended up partying in Ibiza after a quiet Sunday evening in Dundee, Scotland, got out of hand.

Brad Duff, 19, and best friend Reece Lornie, 19, found themselves 1,700 miles from home on Monday after impulsively booking flights for a lads' holiday.

After enjoying a couple of beers on July 5, the plumbers took the plunge and booked one-way flights to the party island for £150.

And Brad was dumped after breaking the news to his girlfriend by sending her a smug selfie from Ibiza Rocks hotel.

Now the pair are still abroad - despite advice warning Scots against travelling abroad until July 10.

And the pair will be forced to quarantine when they return after Spain was not included on the list 'air bridge' list.

But the adventurous duo say they have no regrets about the holiday.

Reece said: "We're having a great time. We've been to Ocean Beach every day since Monday, just chilling there. We have spent a fortune there so far.

"We're just enjoying the 34-degree weather, it feels like liberation after lockdown.

"Brad came to mine on Sunday and we were having a couple of drinks.

"I've no idea how we got on to talk about holidays but we ended up on the internet and found a good deal to get to Ibiza.

"We bought a one-way flight out here and six hours later we were here.

"We were just sitting in mine having a drink and next thing you know we're in Ibiza.

"Brad's girlfriend has left him because of this, she went mental at him.

"Obviously she didn't know we were coming out here because we didn't and then she woke up on Monday morning with a photo from us saying we were in Ibiza."

After getting a lift to Edinburgh airport from a pal, the pair jumped on their 6am KLM flight and stopped over in Amsterdam before landing on the Spanish party island.

Now the cheeky duo - who had never travelled together before or visited Ibizia - say they are enjoying the sizzling weather before booking flights home.

And Reece said his parents were much more accepting about the impromptu jolly than Brad's fuming girlfriend.

He said: "When I told my mum and dad they didn't think it was real, they just thought I was joking. They're ok with it now though.

"God knows when we'll be home. We need to get a return sorted soon though because I've got work.

"I rang my boss the next day and told him what had happened. He was alright about it, he just said 'you only live once'."

The lads stunt follows cheeky Kieran Lindsay flying to Magaluf last year without his mum's permission.

The crafty teenager only revealed the truth when he was on the plane by sending her a selfie.

He had booked onto the trip just four days before he jetted off to the party resort along with eight mates.

After stashing a suitcase at a mate's house and pretending to mum Claire Braithwaite that he was tucked up in bed by sending her a selfie of him 'napping', the 18-year-old jumped into a cab to Glasgow Airport.

Despite infuriating his mum, Keiran said the week-long trip to the party resort was 'the best week of my life'.
