A teen gang trio brutally attacked a child before stealing the kid's brand new Christmas present in a vile north Dublin assault.
The group targeted the 12-year-old in Finglas over the weekend as he played with his brand new electric scooter that he had just received days previous.
The trio, understood to be aged between 15 and 17-years-old, approached the kid attacking him on Lanesborough Avenue before snatching the gift from his grasp and running away.
A Garda investigation has been launched into the horror attack with people being urged to come forward with information.
A text alert was sent around to residents in the community warning them to keep an eye out for teenagers acting suspiciously in the area.

It reads: "A 12-year-old was attacked near Lanesborough Avenue and had his electric scooter stolen.
"Three 15 to 17 year olds committed this attack and Gardai are involved.
"A lot of kids got these as presents. Please keep your kids safe, there are a few of these gangs not from our area wandering our estates.
"Make your kids aware and please contact Gardai if you see anyone or anything suspicious."
