Teen driver attacked in Clydebank just moments after car crash

A 17-year-old has been left badly injured after being assaulted just moments after a car accident in Clydebank.

Police were called following reports of two cars seen driving erratically in the Knightswood area before crashing on Great Western Road.

The male occupants of a Skoda car then attacked those inside a black Volkswagen Golf, leaving the teenage driver badly hurt.

Two other occupants were also injured during the incident which took place at around 6.45pm on Thursday, November 12.

A police probe has been launched and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the erratic driving before the assault.

Detective Sergeant Peter Jarvis said: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed this violent attack or the erratic driving which preceded it to please come forward.

“We are also keen to receive any potential dashcam footage from motorists who were in the area around the time in question and may have witnessed the crash.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 2812 of 12 November.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
