Teen dies in hospital after being found in park in Alexandria

A teen has tragically died in hospital after being found in a park in Alexandria earlier this afternoon.

The youngster, believed to have been 16-years-old, was found by a dog walker in Christie Park in the West Dunbartonshire town.

Police and emergency services attended the scene, near to Christie Park Primary School, around 12.35pm today (Saturday, November 9) after the alarm was raised.

According to the Daily Record, the teen was found alive and was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he later died.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the paper: "Emergency services attended at Christie Park in Alexandria at 12.34pm on Saturday after a member of the public requested assistance.

“A male youth was taken to hospital, where he has subsequently died. The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing."
