
A teenage boy has died after suffering a medical episode at a pleasure park in South Wales.
South Wales Police were called just before 5pm on Friday, 23 May, following reports that a 16-year-old boy had fallen ill at Barry Island Pleasure Park.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is under way to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Tribute have been left online, with one saying: "Thinking of you all, life is so cruel. RIP young man."
Another added: "South Wales Police and all the emergency services thank U for trying to save this young boys life feel for this family."
Barry Island Pleasure Park is situated on the coast at Barry Island in the Vale of Glamorgan, about 10 miles south west of Cardiff. A large number of police cars were spotted parked near the site yesterday evening after emergency services descended on the scene.
A spokesman from Barry Island Pleasure Park confirmed it will reopen today from 12pm.
