Teen describes horror mob attack which left her 'afraid to leave her house at night'

A teenager has described the horror mob attack which left her too “afraid to leave the house at night”.

Chloe Miller was attacked and viciously beaten by a mob in South London last Saturday 27 August.

She has said the attack has left her concussed and badly bruised as well as taking a toll on her mental health, MyLondon reported.

The 19-year-old had left her home with her sister Rachael, 24, and their mum to go to their local shop and pick up a cherry coke and some sweets.

But a video captured the moment the mob launched a savage attack on her, kicking and stomping her from all angles.

Recalling the horrific attack, Chloe said: "There were already loads of people out there, we’d seen they’d been trashing shops and heard the police sirens.

"I’d been in my house chilling but we live right near the shop, so me my mum and my sister had gone over to check on the shop owner and I literally just went to buy a bottle of cherry coke and some sour watermelons.

"On the way back though someone hit me with a crutch, so I turned around and was like ‘why are you hitting random people with a crutch it’s not right’ and all of a sudden I was just getting attacked for no reason. They took my phone and everything.

"They knocked me over and just kept on kicking and stomping, there was about 20 people piling on top of me.

"I remember someone shouting ‘get her phone, get her vape’ and my vape was in between my top in my bra so some guy reached down my top to take that.

"I ended up in hospital with really badly bruised ribs, concussion and multiple bruises all over my body, a black eye.”

Following the attack Chloe says her mental health has been left in tatters.

She said she wouldn’t go out at that time of night again, even on her own street.

Chloe’s big sister Rachael also described what she saw that night.

She said: "Some girl tried to approach us and go in the shop but the bossman didn’t want anyone to come in so we told her not to.

"She went over to some other girls and they started antagonizing Chloe and laughing at her. She just laughed back so they jumped her and dragged her away from the shop.

"I had to try and pull them all off her, there was about 13 of them stamping her out, I was so angry...no-one’s putting their hands on my little sister.

"We always have these sorts of situations, not personally with us, but it’s something that happens all the time. It’s Croydon.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said of the incident: "Police were called at 10:10pm on Saturday, August 27, to reports of a group of people fighting in Portland Road, South Norwood.

"Officers attended and it was reported that a 19-year-old woman had been assaulted by another woman.

"She was taken to hospital where her injuries were assessed as not life-threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. No arrests have been made.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 7131/28Aug. To remain anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
