Teen death near Strathclyde University 'not suspicious' cops confirm

Police probing the death of a teen near the University of Strathclyde say there are no suspicious circumstances.

We told how the body of an 18-year-old man was found in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Emergency services raced to Rottenrow, close to the University's campus in Glasgow city centre, when the alarm was raised just before 2am.

The man was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Medics revealed that he had passed away a short time after arrival, Glasgow Live reports.

Investigations into the death have now concluded that there are no suspicious circumstances involved.

Chief Inspector Craig Walker said: “At around.1.50am on Wednesday, December 9 emergency services were called to a report of a man found injured in Rottenrow, Glasgow.

"An 18-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment where he died a short time later. 

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
