Teen critical among group in Mackay hospital after ingesting unknown substance

A group of children and teenagers is in hospital in North Queensland after ingesting a mystery substance. 

One boy, 15, is in a critical condition in the Mackay Base Hospital. 

Police were called to an address in North Mackay late this morning.

Three boys and three girls aged between 12 and 16 were taken to hospital for treatment. 

It is not known what the substance was.

Detectives and science officers are investigating and a crime scene has been established. 

A number of bags of evidence have been taken from the scene this afternoon.
