BANGA: A 14-year-old schoolboy and a fan of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala skipped school on Saturday and managed to reach Mansa, after covering over 25 km on a cycle and 160 km on two buses - a total distance of about 185km. It was thanks to the alertness of the driver of a private bus company that the boy was reunited with his family by Sunday morning.
The boy belonged to Behbal Pur village, near Mahilpur, and his two younger sisters were studying in a private school in Banga. "When he did not return home along with his sisters, his family went to the school and came to us at around 5.30 pm.
We immediately put his mobile phone on tracking, but found it was switched off. We then started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras. It came out that he did not attend school. From CCTV footage we spotted him purchasing a packet of potato chips and then at Banga bus stop," said Banga DSP Gurpreet Singh.
