Uttar Pradesh: Bodies of couple recovered in Santkabir Nagar

LUCKNOW: Mutilated bodies of a man and his wife were found on a railway track in Sant Kabir Nagar district on Tuesday. Police claimed that they committed suicide over family dispute and had got married only four months back.

SHO, Kotwali, Vijay Narayan Prasad said that locals spotted the bodies of both at Bhuaria railway crossing and then informed the police.

Prasad said that one Bahadur of the local village identified the body to be of his son Rakesh Kumar (24) and daughter-in-law Laxmi (22)

“My daughter in law was pregnant and we all were very happy and had even done dinner together on Monday night,” Bahadur disclosed to police. Bahadur also disclosed that his son Rakesh was willing to go Bangalore for a job.

Prasad said that locals however contradicted the fathers claim. They said that the couple were always at loggerheads with each other and they had also overheard them having a verbal spat in the wee hours of Tuesday.

“Both the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination and the parents of Laxmi who live in Gorakhpur have also been informed about the incident,” Prasad added.
