A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court after being charged with sexually assaulting an 83-year-old woman in the outer Perth suburb of Waikiki.
Police allege the boy broke into the woman's home in the southern suburb in the early hours of Friday before raping her.
The woman raised the alarm with neighbours and was taken by ambulance to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment.
The teenager was taken into custody yesterday and is facing seven charges including three of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, aggravated indecent assault and stealing.
He appeared in the Perth Children's Court this morning where he did not apply for bail.
The teenager was remanded in custody and will reappear in court at the end of November.
