A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after the remains of a body were found at a home in south-west London.

Police said today a post-mortem gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

The victim, who was found last week at an address in Norwell Road, Barnes, is believed to be a 53-year-old man.

A boy from Kensington and Chelsea was charged with murder on Monday and will appear Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court later today.

The remains were discovered during a search of the property on Friday.

Officers were called after concerns had been raised about the welfare of an occupant.

A Met Police spokesman said: "His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers."

Anyone with information that could assist police with their enquiries is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4054.
