Teen charged for ‘lockdown breach’ in Kinross-shire

Police arrested a teenager in Milnathort last week amid reports of gangs wandering around the town in clear breach of lockdown restrictions on gatherings and movements.

The 16-year-old was charged after residents reported a large number of youths congregating on the Old Perth Road last Wednesday evening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed this week: “Police Scotland was made aware of a disturbance on Old Perth Road in Milnathort shortly after 9.10pm on Wednesday.

Break-ins at Perthshire caravan park branded "utterly despicable"

“A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal and further inquiries are ongoing.”

Elsewhere the same night Kinross Golf Club was targeted by vandals who daubed childish pictures and obscenities on buggies parked behind the pro shop.

One employee complained online the next morning, saying: “We had golf buggies vandalised at the back of the pro shop last night and stuff taken out of them, but we do have CCTV therefore the police will be getting informed.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said yesterday it had still to receive an official complaint about the vandalism at the club.
