A teenager has been charged after an 11-year-old boy was allegedly attacked outside a Scots primary school.

The incident took place outside Darnley Primary School on Glen Moriston Road, Glasgow before 6.30pm on Sunday, June 19.

Emergency serviced attended the scene and the 11-year-old was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment before being discharged.

At the time, local residents reported that the school was taped off with police officers standing guard until almost midnight.

Officers have now confirmed that a teenager has been charged in connection.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration."
