A teenager who drove more than 100 miles to attend a Bristol music festival is still searching for his parked car a week later.
Connor Spear went to Tokyo World last weekend after making the two-hour trip from his Plymouth home.
But the 19-year-old failed to note where he parked his vehicle and has been unable to locate it ever since.
Connor’s mum Sally Jeffery said: “I’m devastated and annoyed that he’s been so irresponsible.”
Connor left Plymouth with two friends last Saturday (September 21) in his prized black Vauxhall Corsa, which his mum described as his “pride and joy”.
The first day of the festival passed without incident, but disaster struck on the Sunday when Connor decided to drive so he could give friends a lift to the event.
After leaving the Holiday Inn on Filton Road, Connor stopped to pick up three friends from Motion nightclub near Temple Meads Station.
As the group neared Eastville Park, they found it difficult to find a space nearby, but settled on a spot along a residential street before taking a 10-minute taxi journey to their destination.
When Connor went searching for his car the following day, however, he ran into serious trouble as he was unable to recognise the road he parked on.
Miss Jeffery said: “You know what youngsters are like - he’s parked there without thinking he’ll take a photo of the street.”
Connor and the friends who travelled to Bristol with him were fortunate enough to secure a lift back to Plymouth with someone they knew, but over the past week Connor has been forced to walk to his job as an apprentice at an electrical company.
This weekend, however, the recovery mission stepped up a gear as Miss Jeffery drove herself and her son back to Bristol for a joint search effort.
The pair spent eight hours roaming the streets of the city yesterday (September 28), focusing on Eastville, followed by a further three hours today.
Despite their valiant attempt, however, they were unable to track down the elusive motor.
Recalling her son’s description of the road he parked on, Miss Jeffery said: “On the left of the street there were a load of bushes where you couldn't park and on the right there was a row of houses.”
Connor bought his car for £2,500 two years ago, shortly after passing his driving test, according to his mother.
The Vauxhall Corsa SXI - registration WP08 FKF - has a spare tyre in use on the front driver’s side, while the ‘Corsa’ lettering on the rear of the vehicle has an upside-down ‘o’.
Miss Jeffery said Connor is offering £100 to anybody who can help find the car.
Describing her son’s frustration, the mother-of-two said: “He’s annoyed with himself because at the time you just want to get there [the festival], but he feels so irresponsible - it’s the most irresponsible thing he’s done.”
She added: “The thing is, it’s a really nice, decent car and he’s really looked after it - that’s the annoying thing about it.”
