Teen 'brutally' attacked by five men with hammer

A teenager was seriously injured after he was 'brutally' attacked by five men with a hammer

The 18-year-old has been left with multiple injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police were called to the scene of the assault, on Burrowdale Road, Stockbridge Village, at around 4pm on Monday, October 18.

A police cordon was put in place on the residential street while forensic examinations took place, however it has now been lifted.

Detectives confirmed that the victim suffered multiple injuries but has since been discharged from hospital.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

Detective Inspector Jackie Guinness said: "This was a brutal attack that could have left a young man with serious lasting injuries.

"We are keen to identify the owner or occupants of a Seat Leon, that was seen in the area where the assault took place, as they may be able to assist with our investigation.

"If you saw the incident, have any CCTV footage or further information of what happened please contact us as soon as possible."
