Teen boy taken to hospital after his bike collided with a car

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after being knocked from his bicycle in Neath.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Herbert Road in Neath around 6pm on Wednesday evening, September 22.

His injuries are described as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 6pm following reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a car on Herbert Road, Neath.

"A 14-year-old boy was taken to University Hospital of Wales where his condition is described as being neither life changing nor life threatening.

"Enquiries are continuing to ascertain the full circumstances behind the incident.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has dashcam footage which may assist with this investigation".

Wales Air Ambulance was scrambled to the incident, although the teen was eventually taken to hospital by road ambulance.

A spokesman for the service said: "Our Dafen-based crew was mobile at 6.01pm and arrived on scene at 6.13pm.

"Following treatment, our medics escorted the patient in a road ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff".
