Teen boy hurt in South Chicago drive-by

The boy’s condition was stabilized at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The 17-year-old was shot by someone in a sedan, police said.

A teen boy was shot in the back Thursday in South Chicago.

About 11:47 p.m., the 17-year-old was standing on the sidewalk in the 8400 block of South Crandon Avenue when someone in a dark-colored sedan opened fire, Chicago police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
