Teen boy dies in hospital after he was found in West Dunbartonshire park

A teenage boy has tragically died after he was found lying in a park.

The youth - who is believed to have been 16-years-old - died in hospital after he was discovered by a dog walker in Christie Park, Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire.

Police have now launched a probe into the death after emergency services were scrambled to the incident less than 200 yards from Christie Park primary school, at around 12.35pm.

The teen was found alive and was taken by ambulance to hospital where he later died.

Locals saw several police cars in the surrounding streets, as well as forensic officers scouring a cordoned off area just after 3pm.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: " Emergency services attended at Christie Park in Alexandria at 12.34pm on Saturday after a member of the public requested assistance.

“A male youth was taken to hospital, where he has subsequently died. The death is being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing."
