Teen boy charged after 'stabbing' outside Glasgow train station

A teenage boy has been arrested and charged after a 'stabbing' outside a Scots train station.

Emergency crews raced to Glasgow Central around 7.30pm last night.

A man was rushed to hospital where he received treatment for a stab-wound to the shoulder.

His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Now cops have revealed a 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and has been charged with assault and having a bladed article in a public place.

British Transport Police say that a knife was recovered from the scene.

A spokeswoman for the force urged any witnesses to come forward.

She said: “Officers received a report of an assault at Glasgow Central station shortly after 7.30pm last night.

"A 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and has been charged with assault and having a bladed article in a public place.

"The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a non-life threatening stab wound to his shoulder.

"A knife was recovered from the scene and enquiries into the incident are currently ongoing.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to police can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 506 of 19/07/21. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
