Teen stabbed during argument on Red Line platform in the Loop

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed and seriously wounded after getting into an argument with two people on a Red Line platform in the Loop early Wednesday.

The teen was on the platform in the 200 block of South State Street when he got into an argument with a man and a woman about 1:30 a.m., Chicago police said.

The man chased the teen with a broom and hit him, while the woman stabbed him in the leg with a pair of scissors, police said. The teen was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

No one was in custody.
