Teen boy, 17, charged in Longwood Manor carjacking

A 17-year-old boy is facing charges in connection to an April carjacking in Longwood Manor on the South Side.

The teen boy was arrested Tuesday after he was identified as the person who carjacked a 27-year-old woman at gunpoint April 12 in the 9800 block of South Halsted Street, Chicago police said.

He allegedly pointed a handgun at her and drove off in her vehicle, police said.

The teenager was charged with one felony count of of aggravated vehicular hijacking, police said.

He was expected back in juvenile court Wednesday.
