Teen arrested over stabbing of Cameron Blair at Cork house party

A teenager has been arrested over the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old at a house party last week.

Cameron Blair died following an incident on Bandon Road in Cork city centre on January 16.

The popular Cork Institute of Technology student passed away at Cork University Hospital beside his heartbroken parents Kathy and Noel.

Gardai have launched an investigation into the death and today arrested a male youth in his late teens in connection with the death.

The boy is reportedly aged 17.

He is being held at Togher Garda Station.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to the incident and gardai were over the last week gathering CCTV carrying out door to door enquiries.

Gardai previously appealed for anyone who has any information to contact them, particularly anyone who was in the Bandon Road area between 8pm and 10pm on Thursday, January 16.

Anyone with dash cam or mobile phone footage is also asked to contact Togher Garda Station on 021-494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Anyone who does have any details or video footage is asked to contact gardai and not to share it on social media.
