Teen arrested over alleged plot to attack Houston synagogue

  • An alleged plan by 18-year-old Angelina Hicks of North Carolina to carry out a mass-casualty attack at a Houston synagogue was foiled by a tip to law enforcement.
  • Hicks was arrested and faces felony conspiracy charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, for allegedly planning to kill as many Jewish people as possible at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston on April 21, 2028.
  • Investigators claim Hicks conspired with two individuals, "Teegan" and "Angel," and an unnamed 16-year-old in Harris County, Texas, who has also been charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder.
  • Evidence recovered from Hicks' home pointed to the plan, which involved driving through a congregation at the synagogue.
  • Hicks' parents dispute the allegations, stating their daughter's online activity was role-play and fantasy, not a real plan, and that she lacked the means to execute such an attack.
