Teen arrested by armed cops after report of man with gun and knife at Scots shopping mall

Armed cops were called to a shopping mall amid reports of a man carrying a gun and a knife.

Police confirmed they arrested a teenager at Kingdom Shopping Centre in Glenrothes at 5.25pm on Saturday.

A spokesman said: "A knife and replica firearm were recovered and a 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.

"There was no risk to the wider public."
