A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Lanarkshire teenager Daryll Wright.
The 17-year-old appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week following the death of the Coatbridge lad on May 22.
Nineteen-year-old Daryll was allegedly attacked near Kilwinning's Ladyford Avenue around 2.30am that morning before being rushed to Crosshouse Hospital.
Despite the best efforts of medics, Daryll - affectionately known as Dee - tragically passed away just two days later leaving family and friends devastated.
A major police probe was launched by detectives which saw a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, arrested and charged.
He was initially accused of attempted murder, but this has now been amended to a charge of murder.

The boy appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on June 3 where he made no plea or declaration and was released on bail. He will return to court at a later date.
We previously told how heartbroken pals had launched a fundraising page to help give Darryll ‘the best send off he deserves’.
More than £1300 has been raised so far while a balloon release memorial was held on May 30.
