Teen arrested and charged in connection with bloody Glasgow attack

A teenager has been arrested in charged in connection with a bloody early-morning attack in Glasgow.

We told how a man, aged 41, was set upon outside a flat in Edinburgh Road, in the Carntyne area of the city on Sunday.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene when the alarm was raised at around 3.40am.

Part of Edinburgh Road was cordoned off on Sunday afternoon as forensic officers descended over the area.

Pictures from the scene show a forensic officer picking up a piece of bloodstained clothing from the pavement which was covered in patches of blood.

The victim was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

His condition is still unknown.

Police confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "The victim is aged 41.

"We cannot comment on his condition.

"A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 10."
