Teen arrested and charged after £81,000 of drugs recovered from Glasgow house

A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences after £81,000 worth of substances were recovered from a Glasgow house.

It came after police officers searched a property on Toryglen Road in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire on Tuesday August 3.

A spokesman confirmed they found heroin, herbal cannabis, cocaine and 8,500 etizolam tablets with an estimated street value of around £81,000.

The 18-year-old man has been released on an undertaking and is due to appear in court at a later date.

The recovery was part of an intelligence-led operation by Police Scotland.

Detective Inspector Laura Sands said: “We have taken a significant amount of drugs off the street during this operation.

“Drugs can have a devastating impact on communities and we would continue to encourage members of the public to support our efforts to tackle this issue.

“Any intelligence received about drugs activity will be thoroughly investigated and information can be reported to Police Scotland through 101.

"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
