Teen arrested after serious assault on Edinburgh street leaves man in hospital

A teenager has been arrested after seriously assaulting a man in Edinburgh .

The 18-year-old victim was rushed to hospital following the attack on Ferry Road Drive in the Pilton area of the city, at around 3.45pm on Monday.

Police arrested a 17-year-old.

Photographs emerged on social media of a large police presence.

Eyewitness reports say dogs and forensics units were also spotted, while officers were reportedly seen speaking to a number of people close to the scene.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that a 17-year-old man has been arrested following a serious assault which took place on Ferry Road Drive at around 3.45pm.

"An 18-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are continuing."
