Teen arrested after grocery store robbed at knifepoint in Finglas, Dublin

Gardai have arrested a teenager after a shop was robbed at knifepoint on Saturday.

A man armed with a knife threatened staff in a convenience store on Jameson Road in Finglas, north Dublin at around 5.30pm.

He fled the scene on foot after taking a sum of cash from the till.

A 19-year-old male was arrested some time later by local garda units who recovered the knife.

A garda spokesman said: "He was taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

"No one was injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
