Teen arrested after car allegedly stolen from Scots town is found in England

A teenager has been arrested after a car alleged to have been stolen from South Lanarkshire was last night found in England.

Officers were alerted the incident in Carluke at around 7pm on Saturday, with the car involved believed to be a White Peugeot 3008.

The car was later located, with cops assisted in their hunt for the person responsible from a police force down south.

A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with various road traffic offences.

He is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court tomorrow and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Saturday, 19 February, officers received a report of a car stolen from the Carluke area.

"The vehicle was located and officers were also assisted by colleagues from another force area during this incident.

"A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of road traffic offences.

"He is due before Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday, 21 February.

"A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
