A teenager has been charged with attempting to murder a 51-year-old man.
Brian McKillop, 18, allegedly assaulted his victim in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, on October 20 this year.
Prosecutors state McKillop repeatedly punched and kicked the man to the head and body on Farmeloan Road.
It is stated McKillop also repeatedly stamped on the man's head to his severe injury.
The charge claims McKillop attempted to murder the 51-year-old and robbed him of prescription medication.
McKillop made no plea at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday.
McKillop, of Rutherglen, was remanded in remanded in custody pending further examination by Sheriff Paul Reid.
He will appear at court again within the next eight days.
