A teenage boy accused of driving a stolen vehicle has been arrested after he was found hiding in a residential rubbish bin.
ACT Policing allege a grey Toyota LandCruiser was stolen from Duffy between Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 12, after offenders entered a residence and stole vehicle keys.
About 3.45pm on Thursday, police observed the stolen LandCruiser in Greenway, allegedly being driven above the posted speed limit and evading police.
A short time later, officers spotted the vehicle in Kambah but when officers approached, the driver evaded police again.
About 3.55pm, police received information from a member of the public that the vehicle had been abandoned in a car park in Waramanga, with two young people seen running from the area.
Following a search, police located a 15-year-old boy hiding in a residential rubbish bin at a Stirling residence and he was arrested.
He is due to face the ACT Childrens Court on Friday after being charged with driving a motor vehicle without consent and driving while unlicenced.
