Teen, 17, robbed by ‘brazen’ thugs on back of packed London bus

A manhunt has been launched after a teenager had his jacket and phone taken from him on the back of a packed London bus.

The 17-year-old was surrounded by three men shortly after he boarded a 194 bus at Addiscombe Road, Croydon.

The thugs followed him to the back of the bus and demanded the teen hand over his phone and jacket.

One of the suspects told him he had a knife.

The teenager handed the items over and the gang got off the bus shortly after 1.45pm on March 10.

Police launched an appeal releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The group were described as black, between the ages of 16 and 20, and all wearing dark clothing.

PC Johanna Hernandez Garcia said: “The suspects brazenly robbed the victim in broad daylight and in front of a bus full of people.

“We know the impact robbery has on victims and are focussed on responding effectively to such crimes and investigating them fully. Since the incident took place we have been carrying out various inquiries and are now appealing for the assistance of the public.”
