Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told by his former Manchester United strike partner that Edinson Cavani is the perfect man to drag the team out of their current slump.
United return to Premier League action this afternoon against Tottenham as the dust continues to settle on the heavy and humiliating 5-0 defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool.
It's a result which might yet have drastic repercussions for Solskjaer and his position at the United helm.
Players have not been spared criticism, either, with even five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo questioned for a perceived lack of work-rate in attacking quarters.
The 36-year-old has still managed to score six goals in 10 appearances during his second coming at the club, though some, including Teddy Sheringham, have called for Cavani to get more chances up front.
Speaking as part of a promotion for 888 Sport, the former Tottenham and United striker said: "Tottenham are at risk of losing their top-six spot and so are Manchester United at the moment. That's how big the problems are at both teams.
"You need top players in top positions and I don't know why Cavani hasn't been playing, because he's a focal point of a team and leads the line very well. Sometimes if you don't have that, it's tough.
"Ronaldo is the finished article - even if he's getting older now and he's not going to be running all over the place and charging people down and running the channels to make things happen. He's a striker of true worth - but he's not at the pinnacle of his career."
