Teddy Sheringham compares Man United stalwart to Roy Keane

Teddy Sheringham revealed which Manchester United player has the same qualities as former Red Devil's captain Roy Keane.

The former England striker described Casemiro as "invaluable" following his move from Real Madrid to Old Trafford last season.

Erik ten Hag's side finished third in the Premier League, won the Carabao Cup and play Manchester City this weekend in the FA Cup final.

Sheringham praised the Brazilian and highlighted his leadership qualities in midfield whilst also adding goals to his game.

The 57-year-old described Casemiro as a player who "stamps his authority on a game."

"I think Casemiro has been invaluable. You need somebody in central midfield that dictates the play, and he chips in a few goals as well," Sheringham told Betway.

"I know he's had a couple of red cards, and that sets you back a bit, but he stamps his authority on a game and I think he's been a revelation since he's come in."

Sheringham made the comparison with Keane and Casemiro as both players "lead by example."

"Without a doubt. He's not captain, but he leads by example. I wouldn't put it past Ten Hag to give the captain's armband to Casemiro next year," Sheringham added.

"I know it's drifted about, but I think Casemiro is the leader and he should be captain. He leads by example, the same way Roy Keane did."
