Let's take a moment, Big Ten fans, to rejoice that your favorite school is not in the Big 12.
That conference spent more than a year examining expansion targets before announcing: Nah, we're good.
It remains a conference as unified as our national electorate, notable for its has-beens and never-weres. And by teasing but ultimately passing on 11 vetted candidates for expansion, the Big 12 remains vulnerable to a raid.
The Big Ten is far from perfect (hello, Rutgers), but at least it has a plan for long-term success. And the short term looks good too. That Nov. 26 Michigan-Ohio State game might draw a few eyeballs.
