Ask around at a football game, and a nice chunk of the crowd can tell you the spread. Maybe even the opening line, how it's trending and a theory as to why. Even non-bettors love this stuff.
Ask for the odds at a baseball game, and you'll probably get a big fat "huh?"
How many Cubs fans knew (or cared) that their team went off at minus-210 to win the World Series? Some probably don't even know what that means, that you had to wager $210 to win $100. That sounds like a sucker bet. Unless it hits, of course.
