Ted Karras has a great reaction to David Andrews re-signing

As the New England Patriots went on a spending spree in free agency, they also made the decision to bring David Andrews back in the fold.

Several Patriots players met with the media on Monday, including offensive lineman Ted Karras, who is returning to the Patriots after one year with the Miami Dolphins in 2020. Among other things, he spoke about the return of Andrews. After spending the 2020 season as the starting center for the Miami Dolphins, it would have been easy for Karras to become dismayed by the signing of Andrews.

However, as Karras seemed to maintain a positive mindset about 2021. Here’s what he said in his re-introductory call with reporters.

“Nothing is ever promised in this organization,” Karras said Tuesday on a video conference call. “I got the opportunity with the contract and I’m going to have to earn any role I get. I’m not going to be slated in anywhere. I’m going to have to fight to contribute on this team.

“And yes I’m so happy for David. Great football player, great friend, deserves everything. He’s earned everything in this league. And I’m really excited to play with him, play next to him and work towards winning as many games as we can.”

As New England works to get back into the playoff conversation for 2021, their line may be a source of both depth and strength.
