Ted Cruz accuses Democrats of ‘herd mentality’ and the irony isn’t lost on people

Texas senator Ted Cruz is once again being roasted online, after he accused congressional Democrats of having a “herd mentality” where they “obey Chuck Schumer”, the party’s majority leader in the Senate.

The comments came as the Republican – who’s part of the Senate Judiciary Committee - spoke to Fox News’ Sean Hannity about his opposition to the creation of a vaccine passport system to deal with the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

“It’s a weird thing, Sean. There’s a weird mentality among congressional Democrats that they obey Chuck Schumer and they’ll only answer as ‘sir, yes, sir’,” he said.

However, when a clip of the interview was shared to Twitter on Sunday, the irony wasn’t lost on some people – particularly in relation to a certain former US president whose name sounds like the British term for a fart, and who NPRclaimed now “owns the Republican party”…

No idea whom that could be.
