Tech Week Humber 2020 to put region's digital sector in spotlight

Details for the 2020 Tech Week Humber will be revealed next month to a packed out audience at Hull’s Bonus Arena.

The week-long event, taking place in late 2020, is dedicated to the region’s thriving tech scene.

Featuring blockbuster diary dates including the Tech Expo Humber and Tech Awards Humber, all eyes will turn to digital innovation.

Full details of dates, events and speakers during the week will be revealed on Tuesday, February 4, at a sold out launch celebration at the Bonus Arena in Hull.

Antonio Tombanane, founder of Tech Week Humber, said: “I am blown away by the level of support we have received.

“To sell out within 72 hours was amazing. We've spent the last few months working on some amazing ideas with partners old and new.

“I can't wait to share our plans on February 4.”

Last year’s Tech Expo Humber brought together global leaders from the digital world.

Big-name speakers from companies including Twitter and IBM were joined by leading figures from the region’s tech sector, as more than 2,000 guests packed out the Bonus Arena.

The two-day Tech Expo, which took place in October, culminated in the hosting of the 2019 Hull and Humber Tech Awards.

Both events are now expected to return to the line-up during Tech Week Humber.

Mr Tombanane said: “The Humber region is thriving with huge investments and opportunities.

“We are very natural resources rich. This is our opportunity to inspire the younger generation into tech and to encourage businesses to continue to innovate.

“It is great to have such amazing support from everyone.”

Anticipation for the 2020 Tech Week Humber is already building.

Organisers announced tickets for the launch event, held next month, had sold out within 24 hours.

Over 100 people will descend on Hull’s Bonus Arena, as the programme of events for the week is unveiled for the first time.

Mr Tombanane said: “Those with a keen eye will have noticed the subtle shift from Tech Expo Humber to Tech Week Humber as the team prepare to deliver a festival of events showcasing the Tech scene in the region.

“The aim to engage the business community with innovative tech and inspire the next generation of tech talent.”

Tickets for the launch event have sold out. However, you can still email hello@techexpohumber.com for more information or to join the event waitlist.
