A Birmingham-based tech start-up which was voted best in the Midlands by KPMG in 2019 has taken on three new staff - just months after securing multi-million pound investment from oil and gas giant BP.
Grid Edge has welcomed deployment engineer Neira Huric - the company's seventh hire this year - to its Priory Queensway headquarters.
She joins Hannah Cuzick and Ervan Renault who also recently joined the business in administration and front end developer roles.
The recruitment drive comes after BP Ventures and Goldacre Ventures co-invested in the business in September to enable the company to expand in the UK market and explore further opportunities in Europe.
Tom Anderson, chief executive officer at Grid Edge, said: "We’re very lucky to have recruited seven people this year from across the Midlands to help us achieve our growth ambitions, but most importantly to provide the best possible service to our valued customers."
Grid Edge specialises in helping to reduce the amount of energy used in buildings thanks to the development of cloud-based energy management software which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to gather data from inside commercial buildings.
Tom added: "We’re using Artificial Intelligence and applying it in ways that haven’t been done before.
"Smart energy management is no longer about how much energy is used, it’s about when you use it, predicting patterns to make positive changes. It’s well-understood methods of machine-learning, lots of manual hard work by our team of brilliant people, building algorithms and applying them to real life situations."
