Tech & Science Daily: Lab tests show Omicron survives longer on skin and plastic

Japanese researchers have discovered the Omicron covid variant can survive longer than earlier versions of the coronavirus on plastic surfaces and human skin.

In lab tests, they found it can survive for 193 hours on plastic, and 21 hours on skin.

The data is still yet to be peer-reviewed, but experts reckon this longer life-span on surfaces and ability to remain infectious could have led to the Omicron variant becoming the dominant strain.

John Lennon’s eldest son Julian is planning to sell some of The Beatles memorabilia in the form of an NFT.
