An asteroid over 1,000ft tall is due to pass Earth this weekend at over 14,700mph.

Nereus 4660 is still 2.4 millions miles away from our planet.

It comes as new research by the University of Manchester suggests the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs occurred during spring or early summer in the Northern hemisphere, which made its impact even more lethal.

Masks are back for indoor settings including cinemas, theatres and churches as measures are tightened in England in a bid to slow the spread of the latest Omicron coronavirus variant.
