The tech sector is now one of the biggest employers in Scotland's biggest cities with 69,000 jobs in digital tech advertised in Edinburgh and Glasgow during 2019.
Data analysed by Tech Nation ahead of London Tech Week suggests that more than a fifth of the workforce in each city is employed in digital technologies.
The digital body said that the tech sector in Scotland has been one of the strongest outside London and the South East for several years and that there had been encouraging signs f recovery with hiring announcements from several companies over the summer.

This is in line with the UK-wide trend where the number of vacancies advertised in digital tech climbed by 36% in the two months from June to August as tech companies gained in confidence after the challenges of the lockdown.
Data from jobs website Adzuna suggest the digital tech sector was consistently advertising more than 150,000 jobs a week in the first three months of 2020, prior to lockdown.
Vacancies fell in line with all other sectors of the economy when the UK’s lockdown began, but have since recovered to stand at 90,297 by the week starting 9 August.
Tech is the UK sector posting the highest number of vacancies, after healthcare.
The figures come from a Bright Tech Future report on jobs and skills in the nation’s tech sector, to be published next month.
Edinburgh and Glasgow are two of nine cities, outside the capital, which now have more than a fifth of the workforce employed in tech.
The others are Belfast, Cardiff, Newcastle, Leeds, Bristol, Reading and Cambridge.
