Tech firm Vidatec launches app to help bosses' track workers' wellbeing

Stirling-based app developer Vidatec has launched a platform designed to help businesses improve wellbeing in the workplace.

The company behind the successful Couch to 5k app says Engage4 is particularly relevant at a time when millions of people are working from home and out of sight of their workmates.

Staff can give feedback to their employers, who are able to monitor how they are feeling through 'light touch' surveys.

Personalised news and chat groups help colleagues stay in touch even when they are remote working. Workers can acknowledge each other's work through a ‘high-5’ feature and earn points and badges designed to increase positive engagement and behaviour.

Stress-coping and other wellbeing tips are provided on the app in partnership with  Workwise Wellness Solutions.

Vidatec CEO Greig Johnston said: “We believe engage4 can help to make a real difference to people’s lives.  We are proud to be partnering with Workwise Wellness Solutions with their sustainable wellbeing initiatives already benefiting many businesses,  schools and local communities across the UK."

Vidatec, which is part of the Dundee-based Insights Group, also has an office in Edinburgh. It previously created apps such as Change for Life, Saga Possibilities and UKTVPlay, and It works with clients across the UK in both public and private sectors.

Johnston said Engage4 is particularly relevant at a time when millions are working from home and therefore less engaged with bosses and workmates.

He said: “We have developed engage4 to be used as trusted channel for promoting relevant wellbeing initiatives, tips, best practice and education,  all of which is  particularly crucial to organisations and businesses right now.

“It is a testing time for businesses and their employees at present as they adjust to new working patterns and locations of work, making employee engagement and especially human connection difficult between teams and colleagues.”

Vidatec is currently offering free use of the platform to organisations during the current situation.
