Tech firm Synergi creating new jobs with launch of new service

A Tyneside tech firm is creating 15 new jobs as it launches a managed IT service.

Gateshead company Synergi, which provides advanced cloud solutions for businesses, is planning to add to its existing 35-strong workforce in response to firms requiring on-premises, hybrid and cloud technologies.

Its new ‘managed services’ practice will see it expand into supplying mainstream IT services, including security monitoring and disaster recovery services, and extending its support desk to cover infrastructure and networking communications management.

To help spearhead the new service, Paul Burns has joined as Synergi’s chief technology officer, with a 25-year background in senior technical roles with some of the region’s leading IT providers. Also joining the company will be David Bradbury, who has 20 years’ experience in infrastructure, applications and telecommunications sales and management.

Synergi’s chief executive officer Peter Joynson said: “The launch of a new, fully or co-managed service is the next logical step in our business plan and comes at a time when adoption of cloud technology is at the fore, particularly with the explosion in remote or home working.

“The new managed service means that instead of dealing with several partners each supplying certain elements, clients can work with one specialist technology partner who can provide everything from the design phase through to the implementation and support of the IT platforms and applications.

“Organisations are under very real pressure in the current circumstances, and looking to tap into the cost and efficiency benefits of automation and consuming technology within a contract framework that can flex with their needs.

“Our track record of helping a prestigious client list to drive process efficiency and adopt modern applications, supported by flexible contracts and high service standards, means we can successfully fill this gap in the market.”

The new service aims to support Synergi’s continuing growth trajectory, which saw it achieve a 60% boost in turnover last year, hitting the £3m turnover mark ahead of targets.

Mr Joynson said: “The business environment is at a pivotal moment, with a massive opportunity to review and modernise existing business models as we go forward.

“The next few months are likely to see organisations emerging with new strategies around business transformation and we feel the time is right to extend our portfolio and offer another layer of support exactly when it is needed.

“We expect to create at least 15 new jobs in the coming months, with more in the pipeline.”
