City of Edinburgh Council has named 21st Century Technology as the preferred bidder for a £2.9 million contract to provide real-time bus information service.
The deal is subject to council approval and final contract agreement but is expected to be for an initial five years with the option for two four-year extension periods.
The Leicestershire company is to be recommended at a meeting of the council's Finance and Resources Committee on 10 October after the contract was put out to competitive tender.
21st Century Technology, based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, provides tailored solutions to transport operators, including information displays for passengers, smart ticketing, CCTV video surveillance, vehicle and driver performance monitoring and passenger counting.
